White Farm House, mixed media, 13” x 9.5”, 2004, $ 295
My family has lived diagonally across the street from this house since 1956. It was built in 1904 and had vast farmlands attached to it. By the fifties, the farm was gone but much land remained on both sides. On sunny afternoons, the owners brought out miniature ponies and go-carts that delighted the neighborhood children, including me. Seeing the ponies around the house gave a good glimpse of what rural life in Middle Village looked like long ago.
