Kopp’s and Scheinfeld’s,mixed media 13” x 10”, 2003, $225

When I started this painting, Kopp’s was closed after a 78 year run. As it turns out Kopp’s is being reopened in its original spot. Scheinfeld’s was opened in 1932 and eventually had four stores on Metropolitan Avenue.
These stores gave Middle Village its strong neighborhood quality.
